Connor: Hey, everyone, Connor here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Demco Stay-IN-Play Supplemental Braking System, here for our 2020 Chevy Spark. The Stay-IN-Play, I would comfortably say is one of the most popular braking systems we do here at etrailer, and it's for good reason.Number one, this is going to be a permanently installed kit, meaning like some of the other braking systems such as the Blue Ox Patriot, we're not going to have to really do any adjusting or installation each time we want to tow. We have a switch under the dash here that we need to hit, and aside from that, we're pretty much ready to go.The reason you may be looking at the Stay-IN-Play here, is because braking systems are actually going to be required by law in the majority of states, so you are going to have to have one for most setups, and the Stay-IN-Play here is probably one of the best options on the market. Let's go over a few reasons why I think that is.Sort of touching back on the permanent installation, most of the components we have installed are pretty much going to be out of sight. You're not really going to know they're even on the vehicle, the main unit we have is the operating unit, we have that hidden nicely in our engine bay here, towards the bottom on the frame rail. more

Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Traverse

Hey everyone Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse and I want to walk through how I installed Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Supplemental Braking System. Supplemental Braking System is going to be required any vehicle being flat-towed behind a motor home. What the braking system does, it allows the vehicle to not only slow but stop itself while not relying on the brakes on the RV to stop both because let's face it, replacing brakes on an RV is very expensive. It's going to be a proportional system. So when you apply the brakes in the RV, it's going to match that pressure in the vehicle. more

Shane: Hey everyone. Shane with etrailer.com. Today, I have a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse. And I want to walk you through how I installed Roadmaster's stoplight switch. Why would we need a stoplight switch Well, if we're flat towing our vehicle, the braking system has to be tied into the wiring on the brake pedal, or the factory brake light switch. However, on this vehicle, you can not tie into that wire. more

SMI Air Force One Braking System Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Equinox

Hi there Equinox owners, today on our 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Demco's air force one supplemental braking system. There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home, you'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your base plate, your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar, you'll need your base plate, which provides the connection point on your vehicle to attach your tow bar, you also need your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers them to the lights at the back of your vehicle, so people behind you know your intentions when going down the road, and your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brakes in your vehicle whenever you hit the brakes in your motor home, helping you come to a nice safe stop.Demco's air force one is a truly proportional braking system that's specifically designed to work with motor homes that have air brakes. It takes the air brakes on the metered air circuit and uses that air pressure to send it to the operating unit here. And from here, it goes out of the operating unit proportionally to apply the brake pedal inside the vehicle. What's nice about this is it monitors that in and air out pressure. So it matches the brake pressure in our vehicle that we're towing here to how hard we're pressing the brakes inside of our motor home, giving us a nice, smooth stopping performance across both our vehicle and the motor home. more

Hey guys, how's it going Conner here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the Demco Stay-IN-Play supplemental braking system here for our 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500.Our supplemental braking system here is going to be one of the other mini components we need to complete our flat tow setup. The list of other components are going to include a base plate kit, which is going to serve as a connection point for our next component we need, which is a tow bar, which is going to be the physical link between the motorhome and the towed vehicle. Now in addition to this, we're going to need some safety cables, which may or may not come with your tow bar as well as a lighting solution to provide signals from the motorhome to the towed vehicle. So the supplemental braking system is actually going to be required in most States in order to tow legally. Now what does essentially does is, while we're driving down the road in our motorhome, we have our towed vehicle behind us when we're coming to a stop, or we're going up and down hills, our vehicle behind us is going to be pushing the motorhome. And what this is going to cause is it's going to cause extended stress on our motorhome. more

Hi there Tracker owners. Today on your 2004 Chevrolet Tracker, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's InvisiBrake supplemental braking system. Now many of our customers wonder, well why do I need a braking system I have a trailer at home that doesn't have brakes on it. Well there's a big difference between hauling your vehicle in your trailer. Your trailer doesn't have all of the same components inside or wheel at the front that turn. Whenever you're hauling your vehicle in your motorhome too, you're often going across country and you're going to be in various types of terrain. So if you're in very hilly or mountainous areas, and you're coming down a large hill. more

Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Sonic- Video

Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Sonic

Whenever we go to flat tow our Sonic, there are going to be several components that we need. One of them is going to be a braking system, so that whenever we press the brakes on our motor home, our Sonic will slow down with it and we're not relying on the motor home to slow everything down. Now, most braking systems are going to have a monitor light in there, so we can monitor what's going on and when the brakes are applied in our Sonic without having to leave the motor home. Now, the problem with that is, is that most monitor lights are going to go off of the brake cylinder and the actuator that's actually causing the brake pedal to move, but if something we're to fall on the brakes or that cylinder doesn't move back all the way, or if it's not installed properly, we're not going to get an accurate reading. That's where our stop light switch is going to come in and help us out. Our stop light switch is actually going to give us an accurate reading of when the pedal moves rather than when the actuator moves. Our stop light switch is going to mount directly to the brake pedal arm. It's going to have a small plunger in there, and whenever the brake pedal moves, it's going to energize that circuit and send that signal out. more

Best 2020 Chevrolet Equinox Flat Tow Set Up SM99251

Ryan: Hey everybody, it's Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be going over your best flat tow setup for your Chevrolet Equinox. Now to flat tow your Equinox, we're going to have five main components that are going to be needed. We're going to need a tow bar, a baseplate, safety cables, wiring, and finally, a braking system. Now if I had to recommend one tow bar that would work perfectly with our Equinox, I'd recommend this one here, and this is a Nighthawk Roadmaster. It's going to be extremely easy to use because it's nonbinding, so that's going to allow us to hook up and disconnect very easily without much struggle. It's also going to be very lightweight because it's made from aluminum, and when we're not using it, it can be stored in a closed position.I also like it too, because it does come included with and takes care of the need for our safety cables as well as our electrical cord that runs from our motor home to our six-pole connector here at the front of the vehicle. more

There's going to be five main components for a flat tail setup with any vehicle. First one's going to be your base plate, second your tow bar, then your safety cables, your wiring, and your breaking system. With the Chevy Equinox, it's going to require three additional parts. We're going to require a break light switch, a fuse master fuse bypass, and a charge line. Our stoplight switch is going to mount behind our break pedal. When our break pedal's depressed, it's going to send a signal to the indicator light mounted in our RV to tell us that our breaking system is being activated. Because our stoplight switch is going to require power from the battery, our charge line kit is going to allow us to charge our battery while our vehicle is being flat towed. Our Roadmaster bypass allows us to bypass the fuse. more

SMI Air Force One Braking System Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado

Today on our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we'll be taking a look at the SMI Air Force One supplemental braking system as part of a complete flat tow setup. We will also be using Roadmaster's EZ5 baseplate kit, Roadmaster's universal high power diode wiring kit, Roadmaster's battery disconnect kit, and Roadmaster's Nighthawk all-terrain non-binding tow bars. This supplemental braking system is going to give you truly proportional braking on your towed vehicle using the air supply from your motor home. The air umbilical cord connected between your motor home and your vehicle's going to provide that air to the units installed on the vehicle that will activate the cylinder applying the brake pedal. You'll have a safety breakaway switch as well in case of a catastrophic disconnect. This will pull the pin, applying the brakes on your vehicle to help it come to a safe stop.As you can see here, when I pull the pin it's going to apply the brake pedal. When you're normally driving the vehicle, pressing the brakes in your motor home, it's going to apply the brakes here on your vehicle to help it stop along with your motor home. more
